Job summary

Crescent Gear Solution Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a capable Mechanical Design Technician to create and revise technical drawings for R&D and product development. You will convert ideas into precise 2D and 3D models using SolidWorks and ensure files are kept up to date.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, adapting designs with quality standards, and providing on-site support when needed while maintaining safety and QMS requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Production Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience in manufacturing process environment.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, production instructions, and SOPs.
• Basic knowledge of quality standards and inspection procedures.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings for R&D and product development projects.
• Convert engineering ideas, concepts, and designs into accurate 2D and 3D drawings using SolidWorks software.
• Ensure design files and information are kept up to date, and stored in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Highlight all mechanical technical risks to the PIC’s.
• Perform detailed mechanical design work including 3D modeling, simulations, and design verification.
• Implement design changes promptly and ensure mechanical design integrates with all other design aspects.
• Report progress of assigned tasks to the technical manager and project management teams.
• Provide on-site support to customers when required.
• Implement and maintain quality management system (QMS) requirements.
• Ensure all work follows safety and health regulations at all times.
• Brief work progress on daily / weekly / monthly / for each job assigned.
• Channel of reporting to Management Team & related department PIC’s.
• Other task or duties being assigned by Management from time to time.
