Job description

Connect Energy partners with an engineering consultancy to look for M&P Supervisor to work on a Biofuel project in Malaysia.

The M&P Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the construction and installation of mechanical and piping systems within the construction phase.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate with project managers to plan and schedule work activities including manpower, equipment, and material allocations.
  2. Conduct regular inspections of mechanical and piping installations to ensure compliance with design requirements.
  3. Implement and enforce safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  4. Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and develop solutions to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
  5. Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and tools required for mechanical and piping activities.
  6. Maintain reports and submit them to project managers for review on a regular basis.
  7. Participate in project meetings, provide status updates, and contribute to project planning and decision-making processes.

Requirements:

  1. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Minimum of 10 years working experience in greenfield refinery projects.
  3. Demonstrated leadership abilities; experience in PMT roles will be an advantage.
  4. Familiarity with mechanical systems, piping systems, and related equipment, such as pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
  5. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specifications.
  6. Strong understanding of safety procedures.
  7. Excellent communication skills; fluent in English is a must, and able to speak Mandarin is an advantage.
  8. Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and project management software.
  9. Able to start work with short notice is an advantage.
