Job summary

SMT Technologies Sdn Bhd is seeking a Production Planning professional to manage material planning, WIP, and inventory control in a fast-paced EMS environment. You will monitor production schedules, material status, and WIP to ensure on-time customer delivery and optimal production performance.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in Production Planning, Material Planning, Material Control, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing or EMS environment is an added advantage.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably Infor LN.
• Strong understanding of material planning and production planning and ability to monitor inventory status.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and follow-up skills.
• Able to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow up and address material shortages, CTB gaps, WIP issues, and production risks.
• Request and monitor production and material status updates from relevant departments.
• Highlight potential line-down and delivery risks to Management.
• Analyze production and material data and provide timely status updates.
• Prepare and monitor production plans and material requirements to support schedules.
• Track daily production plans, output, and WIP status; follow up on WIP movement.
• Support on-time customer delivery by meeting production and shipment requirements.
• Prepare daily and weekly PMC reports covering material status, WIP, and delivery status.
• Provide timely updates and escalate critical production and material issues to Management.
• Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, and Customer teams; coordinate with overseas/China teams when needed.
• Ensure accurate updating of WIP, material consumption, and WO status in ERP/MRP for traceability.
• Manage CTB by verifying material readiness against the production plan.
• Drive cross-functional follow-up and continuous improvement in material and production control processes.
• Drive Production review and corrective actions on MRB scrap and material attrition (>5%).
• Monitor material attrition, MRB scrap, and abnormal material consumption; escalate variances.
