Job Description
- Oversee Material Planning, Production Scheduling, Logistics (Trade & Customs), and Warehouse operations.
- Plan, organize, direct, and control inventory management and production scheduling for both site-level and global product lines.
- Coordinate closely with the Purchasing department to align material supply with production and business objectives.
- Lead and develop a multi-level team, including other materials managers and warehouse/logistics personnel.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels to support production requirements while minimizing excess or obsolete stock.
- Implement and monitor KPIs to drive efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness across material and warehouse functions.
- Ensure compliance with trade regulations, customs requirements, and internal control standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain operations, warehouse layout, and inventory systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, procurement, quality, and finance teams to support organizational goals.
- Report to senior leadership on material flow, scheduling performance, and inventory health.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Materials Manager should have:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering).
- Over 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, including Material & Production Planning, Logistics, and Warehouse operations.
- At least 8 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a related function.
- Proven experience managing multi-functional teams, including materials planners and warehouse staff.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, production scheduling, and global supply chain processes.
- Familiarity with international trade, customs documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and strong analytical skills using Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Ability to drive process improvements and lead change in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
