Job summary

Adient in Malaysia seeks an experienced Materials & Planning Manager to oversee materials, receiving and warehouse activities. You will analyze demand, identify delivery issues and support optimized production planning with secure customer delivery.

You will also support material planning for direct and indirect materials, ensuring on-time arrival at lowest cost and driving MRP system utilization while coordinating with internal teams and suppliers on customs and duty exemptions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management or Business Administration.
• 5+ years in automotive with material buying and 3+ years in a management role.
• Experience in production control, inventory control and JIT.
• Import/export under BOI regulations; ERP/MRP systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise materials, receiving and warehouse operations.
• Analyze customer demand and identify delivery issues.
• Support Production Planning to optimize plans with secure customer delivery.
• Support Material Planning for direct and indirect materials, arriving on time and in right quantity.
• Drive full utilization of MRP systems and minimize manual calculations.
• Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers on customs and duty exemptions.
• Lead supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions for service quality.
• Develop logistics plans to meet cost targets and lead times.
• Verify export/import information and communicate policy changes.
• Lead physical inventory, cycle counts and PI variance analysis.
• Mentor planning team members and align with company direction and standards.
