A leading company in the semiconductor industry is seeking a Material / Logistic / Supply Chain Manager based in Kulim, Malaysia. This role includes overseeing logistics, procurement, and sales support. In charge of overseeing the company's logistics, purchasing and sales support operations in Malaysia. This role is based in Kulim (Kedah) and reports directly to the General Manager and Regional HQ.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the procurement of raw materials, components, and other supplies to meet production and sales requirements.
Manage order processing and tracking systems to ensure accurate and timely fulfilment of customer orders.
Establish proper system and policies business process and procedure to meet customer demand effectively and efficiently.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and identify new potential suppliers.
Implement and monitor procurement policies, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production and logistics, to align purchasing activities with business objectives.
Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing wastage.
Oversee receiving and distribution operations
Manage and negotiate Global Marine and freight forwarder contracts.
Responsible for ensuring that international trade and export activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Strategically manage and cultivate partnerships with international freight forwarders and shipping agents to ensure timely, cost-effective, and reliable inbound and outbound logistics operations. This includes contract negotiation, performance monitoring (KPI/SLAs), and proactive resolution of shipment delays or compliance bottlenecks. Leverage data analytics to optimize freight modes, lead times, and delivery costs in alignment with production timelines and global sourcing strategies.
Lead the company’s compliance strategy for customs clearance and Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) operations, ensuring strict adherence to Malaysian Customs Act, MIDA guidelines, and related trade regulations. Act as the primary liaison with customs authorities and regulatory agencies to manage documentation, tariff classification, import duty exemptions (CJ5/ePCO), and LMW reporting. Continuously enhance internal SOPs to minimize risks, avoid penalties, and accelerate clearance cycles for high-value semiconductor goods.
Support company certifications such as ISO 9001 and ISO14001 and work actively with improving those areas.
Other tasks as assigned by company management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced working in supply chain management of semiconductor component maker.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
Proficient in the use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
Knowledge of relevant procurement regulations and industry best practices.
At least 5 years of working experience in the related field with a multi-national corporation (MNC).
NECESSARY SKILLS & JOB REQUIREMENT
Good command of English language, written and spoken.
Good organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
Competent users of Microsoft Office software packages specially Excel
Knowledge of ERP (SAP), customs clearance and Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) is a MUST.
Preferred with knowledge of manufacturing process.
