Position Summary

This person is responsible for strategizing marketing communications plans and objectives to create a favourable market positioning for the hotel in line with the brand’s image. It involves promoting and maintaining good communications to enhance the prestigious image of the hotel and, by doing so, contributing to the profitability of the hotel. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, achieving KPIs, implementing programs, and demonstrating measurable returns on communication programs.

Talent Profile

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a good local and international media network and strategies to enhance the brand image, heighten brand awareness, and work towards specific measurable KPIs. Maintain effective communication with major media representatives.
  • Act as the official spokesperson for the hotel when appropriate and respond to all media inquiries. Serve as the key media contact for crisis or issues management and maintain the crisis manual. Plan and organise media training and crisis management training for the Executive Committee.
  • Develop integrated marketing communications plans, including setting communication objectives, developing strategic initiatives, and crafting messages aligned with the hotel’s mission and objectives.
  • Develop advertising plans with business objectives in mind, including selecting and developing appropriate messages for respective business segments.
  • Collaborate with other departments to conceptualise and develop branding and tactical campaigns to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage and maintain an international media liaison program to develop the hotel’s global branding awareness.
  • Represent the hotel in press events and trips organized by regional PR offices, initiated on behalf of the hotel or linked to relevant partners or trade shows.
  • Plan and oversee the department’s budget, including monthly forecasting and accruals of expenses.
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders, including owners, management companies, advertising agencies, media, clients, government offices (e.g., STB), competitors, and community organizations, to propose and negotiate collaboration opportunities. Manage community and government relations programs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the image library, ensuring photography standards as established by the corporate office.
  • Oversee hotel collateral development, ensuring adherence to brand identity guidelines.
  • Supervise, train, guide, and mentor department associates.
