Marine Operation Supervisor – Marine Captain (Miri Based)

Key Responsibilities:

CONTRACTS MANAGEMENT

1. Act as Contract Focal Point for assigned Marine logistics and services contracts, facilitating commercial relationships and negotiations, managing interfaces to serve business partners, and aligning with the Upstream organization.
2. Support to ensure contracts are managed in compliance with Shell’s CMCP (Contract Management and Contracting Practice) and PETRONAS requirements.
3. Support business in optimizing contractual performance of logistics and services providers, including vessels, marine facilities, and marine services companies.
4. Support development of commercial and contractual strategies, considering external best practices, collaborating with Supply Chain, Shipping & Maritime, and others to enhance competitiveness and supply security for mid/long-term value.
5. Support development of business partners, particularly vessel operators in Sabah and Sarawak waters.
6. Build a culture of safety and quality with our partners in Shell to ensure a sustainable shipping ecosystem.

MARITIME ASSURANCE & OPERATIONS

1. Support the implementation of the local Marine Management System in accordance with Shell’s Standards, HSSE, and Performance Framework, Maritime Technical Function (MTF) Management System, and MTF Discipline Standards and Guidelines.
2. Support assurance oversight of all contracted Offshore Support Vessels (OSV) related to MODU services, cargo transportation, and personnel transfers.
3. Support the application of Shell Maritime Safety Requirements for vessels and offshore assets.
4. Assist in assessing Maritime Safety Risks and implementing controls to manage these risks to ALARP.
5. Support the establishment and maintenance of procedures for maritime activities risk management, complying with Shell Maritime Safety Requirements.
6. Support Positive Vetting of vessels before acceptance for use.
7. Conduct or facilitate assessments of marine organizations, vessels, and facilities, ensuring updated outcomes in Shell’s GMAS system.
8. Provide operational oversight of all contracted OSVs.
9. Assist HSSE focal points in developing and reviewing maritime safety cases and controls.
10. Provide leadership for safe and efficient maritime operations 24/7.
11. Support investigation and follow-up of maritime incidents.
