Job summary

Samtec in Penang, Malaysia seeks a seasoned Quality/Process Engineer to lead product, process and quality improvements. You will utilize advanced measurement tools, develop transfer qualifications, and train staff on measurement equipment.

Responsibilities include data analysis, root-cause investigations with DOE/PFMEA/SPC, and maintaining work instructions and standards. 5+ years in related roles and ISO/TS familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in Process Engineering, Quality Assurance Engineer, or Operations Manager is required.
• Iso 9001/9100 or IATF 16949 knowledge is ideal.
• Familiar with LEAN & 5S environments.
• Ability to handle multiple projects as priorities change quickly.
• Connector experience is desired but not required.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
• Must be able to sit for more than 90 consecutive minutes.
• ISO/TS or Automotive Quality systems highly desired.
• Six Sigma or Problem-Solving background desired.

Responsibilities

• Initiate projects related to product, process, quality systems, or yield improvement based on quality indicators.
• Develop and implement systems that improve quality and ensure sustainable results.
• Use advanced measurement tools and analyze results.
• Create and review qualification plans for inner company product transfers.
• Serve as a training resource for measurement and test equipment.
• Provide guidance and training to Manufacturing Quality Support personnel.
• Monitor and report KPI’s via meetings, email, and End of Month reports.
• Analyse data required to understand problems and develop solutions.
• Investigate and document quality problems using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Create and maintain Work Instructions, SOPs, Training Documents, and Standards
• Use quality tools such as DOE, RCA, PFMEA, SPC to identify and prevent issues.
• Coordinate containment of any nonconforming materials
• Audit manufacturing processes for compliance and address non-conforming results.
