Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking an experienced Operations Program Manager to support a new manufacturing ramp-up in Johor Bahru. You will lead operational planning for new products and transfers, manage cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement across productivity, cost, and quality.

The role requires 5–7 years in program or operations management in high-tech manufacturing, with strong analytical and communication skills and PMP/Lean Six Sigma credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of program management experience in high-tech manufacturing.
• Experience in semiconductor or related high-tech environments.
• Ability to lead cross-functional stakeholders across functions.
• Strong knowledge of production planning and supply chain readiness.
• Data-driven decision making and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• PM certification (PMP or Lean Six Sigma) would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational planning and execution for new products, transfers, ramp-ups, and orders.
• Develop and manage schedules, resources, budgets, deliverables, and milestones.
• Translate customer requirements into production and supply chain plans.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across manufacturing, engineering, quality, warehouse, procurement, and planning.
• Monitor progress, material readiness, capacity, manpower, and shipment commitments.
• Identify shortages and risks with mitigation and recovery plans.
• Lead readiness activities including validation runs and learning cycles.
• Manage engineering changes and non-conforming materials to minimise disruption.
• Improve first-pass yield and reduce defects, rework, and delays.
• Track costs and performance across materials, labour, suppliers, and quality.
• Maintain dashboards, risk registers, and action trackers.
• Provide progress updates and executive reporting on schedules, risks, costs, and actions.
• Ensure timely deliveries, documentation, logistics, and post-delivery resolution.
• Drive continuous improvement across productivity, cost, quality, and efficiency.

• Support the management of engineering changes and non-conforming materials while minimising cost and production disruption.
• Work with manufacturing and quality teams to improve first-pass yield and reduce defects, rework, scrap, and delays.
• Track program costs and operational performance, including material, labour, supplier, freight, and quality-related costs.
• Maintain structured program dashboards, risk registers, and action trackers.
• Provide regular progress updates and executive-level reporting on schedules, risks, costs, and recovery actions.
• Ensure timely customer deliveries, supporting documentation, logistics coordination, and post-delivery issue resolution.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across productivity, cost, quality, and operational efficiency.

about the requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• At least 5–7 years of experience in program management, project management, operations, or manufacturing.
• Experience within semiconductor, industrial automation, capital equipment, electronics, or another high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of production planning, supply chain readiness, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement.
• Experience supporting new product introduction, product transfers, factory ramp-ups, or customer delivery programs would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder-management, and organisational skills.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage changing priorities.
• PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or a relevant project-management certification would be an added advantage.
