Job summary

Robert Bosch Group in Penang seeks a production tester to ensure products are tested with the right quality and quantity according to standardized work. You will trigger escalation when non-conformities arise and participate in changeovers and 6S for workstations.

The role requires 1–2 years manufacturing experience and a minimum SPM qualification. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally and contribute ideas for floor improvements while adhering to ESD and poka-yoke standards.

Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing production environment.
• A minimum of SPM qualification is required.
• Able to work in a team and maintain a healthy working environment.
• Able to communicate cross-functionally.
• Able to contribute ideas for floor improvement.
• Knowledge of BPS tools, Poka-Yoke and standardized work is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Trigger technicians/engineers when non-conformities are found.
• Perform conversion inspection checks per work instruction.
• Attend changeover meetings with MST team.
• Carry out 6S for individual workstation.
• Maintain production checklists for each shift.
• Participate in Production Suggestion System (PSS).
• Understand and follow ESD procedures.
• Check poka-yoke and inform technicians/engineers.
• In case of deviation, press red or yellow button (Andon).

PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production to commence in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in BPS tools, Poka-Yoke & Standardized work is an added advantage
