To provide engineering support to production by sustaining the good working efficiency of all process tools, parameters, and equipment at all times. Initiate the fabrication of process jigs, tools, or test equipment to improve production efficiency.

Support the analysis and monitoring of any failure in the production process and formulate effective actions/solutions.

Collect necessary data for:

  1. Process characterization and optimization using DOE methods;
  2. Continuous improvement of Cp/Cpk on all critical process steps;
  3. Qualification of new tools for production, including documentation, training, and certification of production operators/technicians, and support of all process development projects.

Proper maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery used in the manufacturing process. Establish an equipment management system, set up equipment archives, and ensure the efficiency of equipment management.

Lead the pre-production testing of new processes and equipment. Control costs and improve production flow during the initiation and implementation of changes in existing/new processes.

Provide inputs on processes and potential failures of machines and processes to enhance production planning.

Participate in the formulation of work instructions for new production processes.

Ensure production meets customer order requirements by following production schedules and making quick actions/improvements if any issues arise.

Ensure the production process produces products that meet and exceed current quality standards, avoiding customer complaints and returns due to quality issues. Work with the Quality Department in analyzing, determining, and implementing corrective actions when quality issues are identified.

Analyze problems, improve production methods, fully exploit production capacity, improve yields, and increase working efficiency, while controlling and decreasing production costs. Keep expenses within the department budget.

Continuously improve 7S and lean manufacturing. Follow EHS (Environment/Health/Safety) standards. Care for working conditions and worker safety. Prevent machine breakdowns and injuries.

Ensure resources are in place to meet production obligations.

Provide appropriate training for operators and team leaders.

Meet KPI targets and performance goals for production operations.

Coordinate and implement a quality management system based on IATF16949 & ISO14000 standards.

Ensure production equipment operates normally, and develop preventive maintenance plans and schedules based on machine manuals and company requirements.

Establish a spare parts management system to ensure availability of spare parts and components.

Ensure all on-site construction or machine installation activities comply with safety, environmental, and security requirements through training and education.

Define and maintain training plans for operators and maintenance staff, keeping records of training.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Coordinate and verify the execution of tasks assigned to operators and engineering staff.

Ensure appropriate training for each production and engineering employee.

Evaluate the performance of subordinates.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.

Full knowledge of company manufacturing processes, products, and applications.

Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing is preferred.

College degree or higher, with relevant experience as per responsibilities.

Good written and oral communication skills in English and Malay.

Thorough understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

Experience with IATF16949, ISO14001, or internal audits is preferred.

Strong background in machine maintenance and operation.
