Manufacturing Manager

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for supporting all process engineering duties, ensuring all equipment is running normally and the efficiency and smooth running of the production department.

1. Provide engineering support to production by sustaining the good working efficiency of all process tools, parameters, and equipment at all times. Initiate the fabrication of process jigs, tools, or test equipment to improve production efficiency.
2. Support the analysis and monitoring of any failure in the production process and formulate effective actions/solutions.
3. Collect necessary data for process characterization and optimization using DOE methods.
4. Continuous improvement of Cp/Cpk on all critical process steps.
5. Qualification of new tools for production, including documentation, training, and certification of production operators/technicians, and support of all process development projects.
6. Proper maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery used in the manufacturing process. Establish an equipment management system, set up equipment archives, and ensure efficiency of equipment management.
7. Lead the pre-production testing of new processes and new equipment. Control costs and improve production flow during the initiation and implementation of changes in existing/new processes.
8. Provide inputs on processes and potential failures of machines and processes to enhance reasonable production planning.
9. Participate in the formulation of work instructions for new production processes.
10. Ensure production meets customer order requirements by following production schedules and making quick actions/improvements if any issues arise.
11. Ensure production processes produce products that meet and exceed current quality standards, avoiding customer complaints and returned products due to quality issues. Work with the Quality Department in analyzing, determining, and implementing corrective actions required when a quality issue is identified.
12. Analyze problems, improve production methods, fully exploit production capacity, improve production yield, increase working efficiency, and control and decrease production costs. Control expenses within the department budget.
13. Make continuous improvements on 7S and lean manufacturing. Follow EHS (Environment/Health/Safety) standards. Care for working conditions and worker security. Avoid derangements and injuries.
14. Ensure that the resources are in place to meet production obligations.
15. Ensure appropriate training for operators and team leaders.
16. Meet KPI targets and performance of production operations.
17. Coordinate the implementation and ongoing application of a quality management system based on IATF16949 & ISO14000 standards.
18. Responsible for ensuring production equipment runs normally, and make preventive maintenance plans and schedules according to machine manuals and company requirements.
19. Establish a spare parts management system, ensuring spare parts and components are in place duly.
20. Ensure all on-site construction or machine installation-related activities are in line with safety and environmental requirements as well as secure requirements through training and education for workers.
21. Define a training plan for operators and maintenance staff and keep records of the training.

1. Coordinate and verify the execution of the assigned tasks of operators and engineering staff.
2. Ensure appropriate training for each production and engineering employee.
3. Evaluate the performance of subordinates.

1. Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
2. Full knowledge of company manufacturing processes, products, and applications of these products.
3. 6 Sigma and lean manufacturing experience is preferred.
4. College education or above, and related experience as determined by the above responsibilities.
5. Good written and oral communication skills in English and Malay.
6. A thorough understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
7. IATF16949, ISO14001, or internal audit experience is preferred.
8. Good machine maintenance and operation background.
