Job description

Responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers in the design, development, and implementation of engineering projects. This role involves overseeing project timelines, ensuring quality standards, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

The Engineering Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and operations, to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs and align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the engineering team in initiating and executing new projects, as well as enhancing equipment, processes, and systems to improve quality, productivity, and cost-efficiency in manufacturing.
  • Oversee manufacturing operations by training, motivating, and guiding staff to drive higher efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Ensure timely delivery of products that meet customer specifications, quality standards, and are produced at the lowest feasible cost.
  • Strategically plan and allocate engineering resources to address production-related quality and technical issues while implementing continuous process improvements.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Quality System as outlined in the ATPG Quality Manual.
  • Manage new product development including product and process design, as well as sample preparation.
  • Identify productivity improvement opportunities, conduct feasibility studies, develop proposals, and lead implementation.
  • Conduct Work Studies and Time Studies to enhance productivity and cost control.
  • Analyze machine capabilities and capacities to optimize utilization.
  • Design and fabricate production tools, dies, and fixtures for new parts and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare cost quotations for customer part inquiries.
  • Maintain and update Product Costing Control (PCC) documentation accurately.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to meet production targets that align with customer specifications and delivery timelines.
  • Implement preventive and corrective actions to resolve production-related quality or technical issues effectively.
  • Ensure all engineering documentation, including process flows and product structures, is accurate and aligned with Quality System requirements.
  • Introduce cost-effective practices and enforce acceptable quality standards to reduce production costs and enhance product quality.
  • Provide necessary resources and information to ensure successful task completion by team members.
  • Develop core manufacturing competencies—particularly in die-cutting and other relevant processes—to support company growth objectives.
  • Supervise, monitor, and motivate staff to ensure high performance and task completion.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic/Mechanical/Electrical & Electronic Engineering
  • More than 5 years' experience in Engineering & Manufacturing industry.
  • Proven ability to lead engineering teams in the initiation and execution of new projects, as well as the enhancement and optimization of equipment, processes, and systems to drive improvements in quality, productivity, and cost-efficiency.
  • Strong leadership in managing manufacturing operations through effective training, motivation, and direction of staff to ensure high levels of operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Skilled in planning and allocating engineering resources to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products that meet customer specifications at the lowest possible production cost.
  • Demonstrated expertise in identifying and resolving production-related quality and technical issues through continuous process improvement and re-engineering initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in implementing and maintaining Quality Management Systems in accordance with the ATPG Quality Manual.
  • Full compliance and working knowledge of Quality Management Standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 13485.
  • Familiarity and adherence to Environmental, Safety, and Health Management Systems, specifically ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Senior Project Engineers with experience leading a team are encouraged to apply.
  • Effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin a must as you will be working closely with our China counterparts.
