The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in the product lifecycle by owning the qualification of the manufacturing process to the required technical specifications, efficiency, and quality. This individual participates in specification review, engineering build (EB), manufacturing build (MB), pilot production (PP) process, partnering with manufacturing partners, YETI design engineers, quality engineers to create process validation plan (PVP), production part approval process (PPAP), and works with engineering, operations, test lab, and category management to ensure manufacturing processes are fully validated and ready for mass production.

Responsibilities
  • Part of YETI’s Manufacturing Engineering Team to review drawings, product specifications, and collaborate with manufacturing partners for production feasibility.
  • Review production process flow and assess PFMEA documents.
  • Work with validation engineers on DVP&R (Design Validation Plan and Report).
  • Create PVP to validate process capability and stability.
  • Oversee and document tooling trial runs as part of qualification processes.
  • Oversee and document engineering builds, develop robust production flows, and meet DVP requirements.
  • Oversee manufacturing builds, run products in mass production, meet PVP requirements, and document process parameters.
  • Collaborate with quality engineers for PPAP approval and sign PSA (Production Start Approval) from ME perspective.
  • Work with manufacturing partners and internal teams during production ramp-up to ensure timely delivery of quality products.
  • Solve manufacturing process issues throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications and Attributes
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • At least 4 years of manufacturing qualification or production development experience; project management or quality experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of plastics injection, especially for high-tonnage injection products.
  • Knowledge of stainless-steel processes such as deep drawing, hydroforming, welding is a plus.
  • Ability to review product designs by evaluating CAD designs and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in 3D & 2D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
  • Experience with problem-solving methodologies and statistical tools.
  • Lean production mindset and experience.
  • GD&T drawing reading skills are preferred.
  • Six Sigma certification is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong command of English, with the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, colleagues, and customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
