Job description

Our Client:

We are partnering with a Japan based MNC that specializes in manufacturing of plastic injection parts and optical components. The company is expanding their Malaysia operations and looking for a Manufacturing Engineer as part of their strategic growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key contact point for coordinating with Japanese clients, especially during the initiation of new manufacturing projects. Bridge communication between external stakeholders and internal teams such as engineering, planning, or production.
  • Oversee material planning and production scheduling to ensure timely and efficient operations across the shop floor.
  • Prepare cost breakdowns, quotations, and tooling estimates. Address pricing revisions arising from design or specification changes.
  • Maintain comprehensive production and client communication records. Prepare relevant reports to support traceability and project tracking.
  • Assist with tasks that span multiple departments, including providing language support for translations and interpretations when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Advanced proficiency in Japanese (typically equivalent to JLPT N2 or higher). Good command of English is essential.
  • Ideally 5 years or more in a manufacturing-related role, with hands-on involvement in engineering or production functions.
  • Diploma or degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools—especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with strong problem-solving abilities and a structured approach to task management.
