Job summary

HP, Inc. seeks an engineer to design and implement manufacturing solutions for new product components. You will define methods, operation sequences, and tooling needs while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure cost-effective production and regulatory compliance.

You will develop capacity models, cost estimates, and KPIs to measure factory performance and drive improvements. The role spans NPI through lifecycle with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • This role requires a four-year or graduate degree in manufacturing/ mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Typically 2–4 years of experience in engineering design and solutions or equivalent competence.
  • Experience with manufacturing engineering principles and cost-effective solutions is valued.

Responsibilities

  • Designs portions of engineering solutions, including methods, operation sequences, and processes for manufacturing parts and assemblies.
  • Implements time standards, layouts, and tooling requirements for subsystems and new products.
  • Develops cost estimates, capacity models, and tooling/process recommendations.
  • Monitors factory performance with KPIs and provides recommendations to management.
  • Collaborates with internal and outsourced partners on processes, compliance, and manufacturing issues.
  • Contributes to project teams to develop reliable, high-quality manufacturing solutions from NPI through lifecycle.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance and documents current-state analyses with recommendations.
  • Works independently on moderate scope problems following company policies.

Responsibilities


  • Designs portions of engineering solutions, including methods, operation sequences, and processes for the manufacturing of parts, component sub- assemblies, and final assemblies, based on established engineering principles and provided specifications.

  • Implements and executes established time standards, production area layouts, and requirements for manufacturing tooling and processes for subsystems and portions of new products.

  • Develops cost estimates, capacity models, and recommendations for tooling and process requirements.

  • Develops and reviews key indicators to measure factory performance and provide recommendations to factory management.

  • Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced manufacturing and development partners regarding processes, standards, compliance and manufacturing issues of existing products.

  • Coordinates and captures recommendations for problem resolution against the issues identified.

  • Participates as a member of project team of other manufacturing engineers and internal and outsourced manufacturing partners to develop and execute reliable, cost effective and high quality manufacturing solutions for low to moderately- complex products from new-product introduction through end of lifecycle.

  • Ensures compliance of manufacturing operations with necessary internal and external regulations.

  • Develops conclusions and written reports capturing current-state analysis and recommendations, contributing proactively through research and data analysis support.

  • Works independently on moderate scope problems, applying professional expertise, exercising judgment by following company policies and procedures.


Education & Experience Recommended


  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in engineering design and solutions, or a related field or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.
