A leading optical products supplier in Malaysia seeks a Data Engineer to manage and optimize a scalable data kiosk. You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data reliability and provide support for data integration processes. Ideal candidates should have a Master's degree in a relevant field and experience in SAP or data systems. Perks include medical benefits, allowance, and educational support.
Design, install, and maintain a scalable data kiosk to ensure ease of use and smooth functioning for different stakeholders (Production, Quality, SCM, ...). Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data requirements and facilitate access to relevant data sources.
Implement data ingestion processes from various sources (MIP/PASS/ERP/...) using ETL tools. Ensure data quality and integrity through monitoring, validation, and troubleshooting. Optimize existing data processing and storage systems for performance and scalability. Document and maintain best practices for data engineering processes and technology usage. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in big data technologies to improve data practices.
Monitor and manage data stocks in the kiosk. Support and train users in kiosk use. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues. Collaborate with the Smart Manufacturing team to implement updates and new features, as well as set up automated data acquisition and extraction. Create and maintain documentation and user manuals. Analyze and report on kiosk usage, suggesting improvements. Develop and implement policies and procedures for kiosk use, including authorizations.
Data Integrity & Traceability
Conduct data quality checks and identify inconsistencies or errors. Communicate with Data Controllers and Smart Manufacturing Engineers.
Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure data accuracy. Monitor traceability data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Generate reports on traceability metrics and present findings. Train stakeholders, including data scientists and analysts, on traceability protocols and data management tools. Provide traceability reports to relevant teams.
Job Requirements
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. 3-5 years experience in business administration or computer science. Excellent command of English, analytical, interpersonal, and social skills. Good knowledge of SAP ERP/BI and/or MES systems. Strong understanding of data architecture and data modeling. Proficiency in SQL.
