Job description

At McGraw Hill we create best-in-class, next-generation learning platforms that are used by millions of students and educators worldwide from kindergarten through graduate school. Our goal is to accelerate student success through intuitive and effective learning tools and content that maximize a teacher’s time and a student’s learning experience.

If you have the content editing expertise and passion to thrive in an innovative, collaborative, and agile environment, we want to learn more about you

Make an Impact

Based in Malaysia, the Managing Editor oversees content development for the Asia region, partnering with the Philippines and Indonesia Sales Teams, as well as the China Sales Manager, to drive business growth centered on high-stakes exam content.

The role builds ancillary products around the PLE for the Philippines and the UKMPPD for Indonesia, develops a product roadmap that identifies gaps in McGraw Hill's content versus the core Indonesian and Philippine curriculums, and creates a localization roadmap outlining product pipelines and requirements across the region.

How can you make an Impact?

This position carries end-to-end accountability for the UKMPPD and PLE content strategy, including contracting authors to develop review courses, Q&A materials, and supporting ancillaries; direct ownership of assigned projects from focus groups through proof-of-concept validation; development of AI-generated derivative products; and execution of a market expansion strategy targeting the top 10 schools by revenue and size across Asia, in partnership with Sales, Customer Success, and Editorial.

What can you expect from the position?
  • Serve as the local representative (“feet on the ground”), conducting focus groups and meeting with key stakeholders—including Faculty, Deans, and Administrators to maintain a clear pulse on market needs.
  • Develop a clear roadmap outlining localized product pipelines and specific localization requirements.
  • Create a product roadmap that identifies gaps in McGraw Hill's content versus the core Indonesia and Philippine curriculums.
  • Understand the medical market in each region and determine the gaps in these regions.
  • Build ongoing relationships with key contacts that yield subject matter experts for content creation, reviews, focus groups, and lead generation.
  • Build ancillary products around the PLE for the Philippines and the UKMPPD for Indonesia.
  • Partner with the Philippines and Indonesia Sales Teams, as well as the China Sales Manager, to drive business growth, prioritizing high-stakes exam content.
Author & Editorial Management
  • Travel alongside the sales team to assist reps and cultivate author leads.
  • Act as the primary liaison between assigned authors and the publisher, providing support on format, timelines, features, and overall project execution.
We’re looking for someone with:
  • BA/BS required.
  • 4+ years of experience in editorial content development and/or acquisitions, preferably in medical publishing.
  • Proven experience in publishing for global markets.
  • Knowledge of digital platforms and digital product development and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of AI and how to implement it for content creation.
  • Strong analysis, product development, management, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated contract negotiation and implementation skills.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage collaboration across internal departments.
  • Outstanding writing and presentation skills.
Here’s what we offer:

At McGraw Hill, you will be empowered to make a real impact on a global scale. Every day your individual efforts can contribute to the lives of millions.
