Pacific Oleochemicals Sdn Bhd, part of the Lam Soon Group, is seeking a visionary Managing Director to provide strategic leadership and direction. You will champion growth, drive operational excellence, and deliver sustainable profitability in line with Board objectives.

Lead strategy, commercial expansion and governance, while managing risk and building a high-caliber leadership team across Shah Alam, Glenmarie and Pasir Gudang in Johor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 20 years in senior leadership roles within oleochemicals, chemicals or related process industries.
• Demonstrated P&L ownership and experience across manufacturing and international commercial activities.
• Exposure to commodity price cycles and feedstock economics is advantageous.
• Postgraduate qualification or professional designation is a plus.
• Strong strategic, commercial, operational and financial acumen with team leadership.

Job description

Pacific Oleochemicals Sdn Bhd (a member of Lam Soon Group), is seeking a visionary and results-driven Managing Director to provide overall leadership and direction. In this role, you will champion our strategic growth, drive operational excellence, and deliver sustainable profitability in line with Board and Group approved objectives.

The Role:

• Strategy & Growth: Set and execute the Company’s strategy, business plans and budgets. Pursue capacity expansion, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, and expand into higher-value products.
• Commercial: Drive profitable sales growth, export market development and strategic customer relationships.
• Operations: Oversee manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, quality and capital projects to improve plant utilization, yields, energy efficiency and conversion costs.
• Financial: Own profitability, cash flow, working capital and returns on investment, including feedstock procurement strategy and raw material price exposure.
• Governance & Sustainability: Uphold internal controls, compliance and risk oversight, and champion safety, quality and responsible sourcing.
• People & Stakeholders: Build an accountable management team and succession plans, advise the Board and Group, and manage relationships with customers, suppliers, regulators and financial institutions.

What You Bring:

• At least 20 years of relevant experience, including substantial senior leadership in oleochemicals, chemicals or comparable process manufacturing.
• Proven P&L ownership, plus manufacturing and international commercial experience.
• Exposure to feedstock-driven economics and commodity price risk (an advantage).
• A degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business, Marketing, Finance or a related discipline; a postgraduate or professional qualification is an advantage.
• Strong strategic, commercial, operational and financial acumen, with proven people leadership and stakeholder management.
• Must be willing to be based and travel extensively between Shah Alam, Glenmarie & Pasir Gudang, Johor.
