Job description

Managing Director – Motorcycle & Bike Business

We are launching a new venture within Autoliv to redefine safety for Motorcycle and Bike mobility — and we’re looking for a technology-driven, intrapreneurial leader to take the helm.

As Managing Director of the Motorcycle & Bike (M&B) business, you will be responsible for building this greenfield business from the ground up. With full P&L ownership, you will lead strategy, product innovation, commercial development, customer satisfaction, and operational execution — shaping a scalable, high-impact business aligned with Autoliv’s purpose of saving lives.

This role is ideal for a seasoned leader who combines deep technical understanding, strong customer orientation, and the ability to translate vision into action in a global matrix environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead with Vision and Execution: Define and execute the strategy for Autoliv’s M&B business, transforming safety for motorcycles and bikes through smart, tech-enabled solutions both as a component supplier and system integrator.
  2. Drive Product and Technology Development: Steer a focused, fast-paced roadmap in close collaboration with RDE/Incubation, Divisions, and external partners to bring innovation to market quickly and reliably.
  3. Shape the Customer Landscape: Engage with global motorcycle OEMs, rider gear manufacturers, and technology partners to define needs, co-develop solutions, and establish strong commercial traction.
  4. Build the Organization: Establish a lean, agile team and operating model suitable for growth. Foster a culture of speed, ownership, and technical excellence.
  5. Ensure Operational Excellence: Establish lean and scalable operations from the ground up. Drive disciplined execution across development, industrialization, quality, and cost — with a focus on speed, adaptability, and resource efficiency, similar to a startup environment without compromising quality.
  6. Integrate Within the Ecosystem: Navigate Autoliv’s global network to align support functions, leverage existing capabilities, and maintain strategic alignment across MSS, RDE/Incubation, and Divisions.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Strong background in engineering, product development, or program management, ideally with global experience in mobility or technology sectors.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, build from scratch, and take concepts to industrialization.
  • Strategic and business acumen with strong analytical skills and a practical approach to action.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, with the ability to translate technical value into commercial impact.
  • Familiarity with Autoliv’s processes and structures, or equivalent experience from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, is a strong asset.
  • Experience in motorcycle, bike, or micro-mobility sectors, with a good understanding of market dynamics, safety needs, and product requirements.
  • Leadership experience in startup or high-growth environments, capable of operating in ambiguity, building operations, and driving entrepreneurial execution.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages such as Japanese or Italian are advantageous.
What We Offer
  • A unique opportunity to create and lead a business from inception within a mission-driven global leader.
  • High visibility and impact with executive sponsorship and strategic support.
  • A platform to combine technological leadership with entrepreneurial execution.
  • A dynamic, international environment emphasizing collaboration and innovation.
