Job summary

Tune Protect Group in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced underwriting professional to lead underwriting for Engineering and Bond classes, drive risk-based pricing decisions, and monitor portfolio performance. This role also collaborates with Sales to support business growth and ensures adherence to underwriting guidelines.

The position will also partner with IT to enhance underwriting systems, participate in UAT, and manage system configurations for underwriting products to boost efficiency

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting activities for Engineering and Bond classes, ensuring sound risk assessment and pricing decisions.
• Review and refine underwriting parameters to align with risk appetite and market developments.
• Monitor underwriting performance across schemes and recommend improvements where required.
• Attend to referrals and provide technical support to Sales to support business growth.
• Ensure all underwriting activities adhere to Company Underwriting and Treaty Guidelines.
• Support portfolio monitoring by analysing key performance indicators, including loss ratios and claims experience.
• Identify trends, underperforming accounts, and areas of concern, and implement corrective actions.
• Review portfolio performance by producer and claims activity to maintain targeted profitability.
• Act as a key owner/user of underwriting systems, including the quotation module.
• Provide feedback and recommendations for system enhancements to improve efficiency and controls.
• Collaborate with IT and project teams on system-related initiatives and implementations.
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support product/system rollout activities.
• Manage system setup and configuration for underwriting products.
• Review and drive improvements in underwriting processes, particularly for Bond business

Job description
