Job summary

AirAsia in Malaysia seeks a Manager, Supply Chain Management to oversee spares, materials, and repairs in line with CAAM standards. You’ll lead inventory control, budgeting, and staff development while ensuring timely, cost-efficient operations across CAM interfaces.

You will drive forecasting, procurement, and supplier collaboration to sustain maintenance readiness and network efficiency in a dynamic aviation environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in inventory management or supply chain; 5+ aviation experience preferred.
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Holds a valid CAAM Aircraft Maintenance License (AML).
  • Inventory management certification (CPIM) is a plus.
  • Proficient with Oracle ERP, AMOS, and WMS platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and sustain an economical administrative system within SCM.
  • Monitor course progress of staff within the department to maintain quality.
  • Manage the SCM department budget.
  • Ensure staff have necessary skills and ongoing training.
  • Prepare and present reports on inventory health, stock availability, and turnover.
  • Develop budgetary forecasts for materials and spares.
  • Forecast short-, mid-, and long-term spare parts needs.
  • Procure and manage aircraft spares and materials to support maintenance.
  • Supervise material movements within networks; review unserviceable parts and BER suggestions.
  • Liaise with QA for supplier approvals and corrective actions from audits.
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, and Logistics across functions.

YOUR ROLE AS A MANAGER, SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

You will serve as a vital role to ensure the institute maintains an effective and efficient system for the management of spares, materials, and component repairs efficiently and economically and in accordance with the requirements of the company and CAAM.

WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:

Establish and maintain an effective and economical administrative system within the Supply Chain Management Department;

Monitor the progress of all courses attended by staff(s) within the department to ensure that a high level of quality and performance standard is maintained at all times;

Manage the budget requirement of Supply Chain Management Department;

To ensure that Supply Chain Management personnel are in possession of correct skills, are given appropriate training, are up to date on the latest methods, procedures and requirements, are in sufficient strength to accomplish their work effectively;

Prepare and present regular reports on inventory health, stock availability, and turnover to engineering management;

Produces budgetary forecast for materials and spares;

Produces short, mid and long-term forecast for spares and materials to ensure availability in a timely manner;

Procure and manage of aircraft spares and commercial materials to ensure availability to support maintenance operation;

Supervises and directs materials movements within the operating networks, reviews unserviceable parts and provides recommendations for BER parts for scrapping;

To facilitate the request and movement of materials and spares between CAMO and Part 145 Maintenance Organisations;

Reviews and authorizes orders, invoices and other service charges and highlights any discrepancies;

Liaise with QA for approval of new suppliers and contractors for purchasing and repair;

Responsible to undertake the necessary corrective action resulting from the quality compliance monitoring and audit program;

Any other tasks directed by the Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM)

WHO YOU ARE:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or related roles; OR and Minimum of five (5) years aviation experience

Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. from recognised institutions or

Hold a valid CAAM Aircraft Maintenance License (AML)

Certification in inventory management (e.g., Certified in Production and Inventory Management - CPIM) is a plus.

Proficient knowledge of Oracle ERP, AMOS and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) platforms.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose system-related issues and drive effective solutions.

Well-organized, meticulous, trustworthy, and able to perform effectively under pressure.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including IT, Finance, and Logistics.
