Job description

Portfolio Management

  • Support the Senior Manager in strategic analysis, including portfolio management, competitor benchmarking, and market intelligence to enhance business decision-making.
  • Conduct in-depth financial modelling, investment analysis, and scenario planning to evaluate capital deployment across business segments.
  • Assess financial performance metrics and profitability of different business units to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • Identify and analyse market trends, regulatory shifts, and competitive positioning to guide capital allocation strategies.
  • Perform competitor benchmarking, analysing the financial performance, strategic initiatives, and market positioning of key industry players.
  • Develop recommendations for portfolio adjustments, including expansion, divestments, or restructuring to align with corporate growth objectives.
  • To prepare reports for Executive Leadership Team, MISC Board, and PETRONAS related to Strategic Analysis.
  • To perform ad-hoc strategic analysis as and when required.

Strategic Collaboration & Business Intelligence

  • Work closely with the strategic planning team to provide data-driven insights that shape long-term corporate strategies, business portfolio decisions, and growth initiatives.
  • Support the risk management team by identifying market risks and providing intelligence to enhance enterprise risk frameworks.
  • Assist the performance management team by analyzing industry benchmarks, competitor performance, and macroeconomic factors that impact business targets and key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with internal research teams to align industry research with the Group’s broader strategic objectives, ensuring consistency and relevance in corporate decision-making.
  • Provide inputs for strategic reports and presentations for executive leadership, ensuring data integrity and strategic alignment with the Group’s corporate vision.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 10 years working experience in finance / accounting / audit / corporate planning / equity or industry research / investment banking / strategy / consulting.

QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Studies / Economics or other industry-related qualifications.
  • Professional qualification or relevant post graduate degree would be an added advantage (e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst or MBA).
