Social Media Strategy Development:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with MDEC's overall goals and objectives.
  • Identify target audience segments and tailor content to resonate with their interests and needs.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging social media platforms.

Content Creation

  • Create engaging and high-quality content for social media platforms, including text (in English and Bahasa Melayu), images, videos, and infographics.
  • Develop a content calendar and ensure timely and consistent content publication.
  • Collaborate with designers, writers, and other team members to produce compelling social media assets.

Community Management

  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries on social media platforms in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Foster meaningful engagement and build relationships with followers and online communities.
  • Address customer concerns, resolve issues, and escalate when necessary.

Performance Tracking And Reporting

  • Monitor key social media metrics, such as engagement, reach, and conversion rates.
  • Analyze data to gain insights into content performance and audience behavior.
  • Prepare regular reports showcasing social media performance and recommend optimizations.

Collaboration And Coordination

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align social media efforts with overall marketing campaigns.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, influencers, and partners for content collaborations and promotions.
  • Ensure brand consistency and adherence to guidelines across all social media channels.

Stay Abreast Of Social Media Trends And Tools

  • Stay updated with the latest social media trends, features, and algorithms.
  • Explore and evaluate new social media tools, platforms, and technologies to enhance MDEC's social media presence.

Risk Management

  • Improve, update and comply with MDEC's social media policy and standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with social media activities.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and crisis management plans.
  • Stay informed about legal and regulatory requirements related to social media usage.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify potential risks and opportunities.

Important note: This role may require work outside of regular office hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to support time-sensitive campaigns, real-time content engagement and crisis management.

QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media or Business Administration.
  • Relevant qualifications in graphic design, psychology/sociology, English/creative writing and IT/computer science is an added advantage.
  • Professional certifications from Meta, Google, Hootsuite, HubSpot or any other relevant platforms.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in social media management, with proven ability to adapt to fast-changing digital trends, audience preferences, and platform innovations.
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Social media management and scheduling tools - Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, and Meta Business Suite (for Facebook & Instagram).
  • Content creation and design tools - Canva, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, and CapCut.
  • Analytics and reporting tools - Meta Insights, X Analytics, LinkedIn Analytics, Google Analytics, and Sprout Social/Hootsuite Analytics.
  • Community management and listening tools.
  • Project management and collaboration tools - Microsoft 365.
