Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Manager / Senior Reviewer to lead and oversee our Assurance, Taxation, and Company Secretarial teams. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, this pivotal role involves ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and quality of work produced by our specialized staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise across these disciplines, exceptional review capabilities, and proven leadership skills to guide and mentor our growing team.
Key Responsibilities (Non-Exhaustive):
Work Review & Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough reviews of work prepared by Assurance, Taxation, and Company Secretarial staff to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant laws, regulations (e.g., Companies Act 2016, Income Tax Act 1967), and professional standards.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to team members to enhance their technical skills and work quality.
Develop and implement internal quality control procedures and best practices across all service lines.
Team Management & Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff in Assurance, Taxation, and Company Secretarial functions.
Oversee daily operations and workflow, ensuring efficient allocation of tasks and timely completion of assignments.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Technical Guidance & Problem Solving:
Serve as a primary technical resource for the team, providing expert advice on complex issues related to company law, tax regulations, and assurance principles.
Assist in resolving client queries and challenges that require in-depth technical knowledge.
Client Management & Liaison:
Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and addressing any service-related concerns.
Act as a key point of contact for clients on technical and operational matters.
Reporting & Strategic Support:
Provide regular updates and reports to the Managing Partner on team performance, project status, and key compliance matters.
Assist the Managing Partner in strategic planning for service delivery and team development.
Requirements:
Professional Qualification:
Possess a recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MIA membership) OR a professional tax qualification (e.g., CTIM) OR a professional company secretarial qualification (e.g., MAICSA, ICSA).
A combination of qualifications or strong practical experience across multiple disciplines is highly advantageous.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in a professional services firm (e.g., audit firm, tax firm, corporate secretarial firm).
At least 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or review capacity, overseeing staff and ensuring work quality.
Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas: Assurance/Audit, Malaysian Taxation (Corporate & Personal), and Company Secretarial practices.
Technical Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of the Companies Act 2016 and related regulations.
Strong knowledge of the Income Tax Act 1967 and other relevant tax legislation.
Familiarity with financial reporting standards and audit principles.
Skills:
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Superior attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team management abilities.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Proficiency in other languages (e.g., Mandarin) is a strong asset.
Proficient in relevant accounting, tax, and corporate secretarial software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
