Job Description
The incumbent will be in Global Centre of Excellence Team working together with APAC staff on a day-to-day basis as a collaborative team player, working seamlessly within the finance department and across various departments and countries, forming strong connections with local liaisons.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise team and oversee financial close process.
- Ensure all financial activities are completed timely and in accordance with corporate timeline, guidelines and policies.
- Financial activities include but are not limited to:
- Preparation and posting of general ledger related entries (i.e. invoicing, interco).
- Monthly, quarterly and yearly closing activities and reporting. This includes preparation of financial statements, GST reporting and tax computation.
- Preparation of monthly reconciliation and schedules, reconciling group-level balances and facilitating prompt resolution of any discrepancies.
- Analysis of accounts.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of financial transactions.
- Work closely with all stakeholders and as a team with other team members to ensure end deliverables and KPI are met.
- Provide support for audit and tax related matters.
- Perform all other related tasks assigned from time to time.
- Coordinate with external auditors to meet external audit deadlines.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of new procedures and features to streamline processes.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for relevant issues in communications with the business sites.
- Manage and assist in developing innovative and creative solutions that will help to resolve or minimize potential risk for our business sites.
Requirements
- Degree holder in accounting and/or finance or professional qualifications.
- At least 7 years of working experience including 2+ years of management experience in a similar capacity within a shared services set-up, preferably with experience in stockbroking/asset management background.
- Experience in the financial industry includes sound technical knowledge/experience in Stockbroking/Asset Management Services.
- Meticulous, analytical and a high degree of agility.
- Strong computer skills and experience with relevant software programs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines.
