Manager - Repossession & Operation (NPL & Recovery Dept)

The Manager is responsible for leading repossession and operational improvement initiatives to achieve departmental targets, enhance efficiency, ensure compliance, and support strategic planning and project implementation within the NPL & Recovery Department.

They must ensure staff adherence to company policies, guidelines, BNM, and other regulatory requirements.

The Manager will oversee the unit/section repossession and operation improvement staff in daily activities, performance, administration, and reporting of performance/productivity to the Head of Department or Senior Management.

They are tasked with achieving repossession and operation improvement targets set by management—daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly—and delivering strong collection results.

The role involves ensuring the unit's contribution towards NPL collection to minimize impairment loss provisions as per the company's loss budget.

Assess staff collection knowledge and recommend skill development programs.

Provide operational support by relieving other Section Heads as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Enhance customer service standards and resolve customer complaints within stipulated timelines.

Participate in new management initiatives, projects, or tasks assigned by management.

Perform any ad-hoc tasks or matters assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in collections, credit operations, or NPL recovery, preferably in banking or financial institutions.
• Strong knowledge of collections processes, repossession procedures, and NPL management.
• Proven leadership in managing teams and achieving operational and collection targets.
• Familiarity with Malaysian legal frameworks, BNM guidelines, and credit/recovery operations.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive improvements.
• Experience in change management with a proactive, result-oriented approach.
