Job summary

UEM Sunrise Berhad is seeking a finance leader to own end-to-end accounting and reporting for designated entities. You will manage monthly closes, group reporting, and high-level reviews for senior management.

The role requires strong leadership, integrity, and risk management across complex stakeholder groups. Qualified candidates will have 4–5 years in audit and 6–7 years in commercial roles, ideally in property development, plus a recognized accounting degree and professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or equivalent with professional qualification preferred.
• Experience in audit industry (4–5 years) and property development exposure.
• Experience in commercial roles with property development background (6–7 years).

Responsibilities

• Own the period-end close process and ensure timely, accurate group reporting.
• Lead intercompany and external platform data integration and reconciliation.
• Drive monthly closing, forecasting, and cashflow management for assigned entities.
• Prepare audit schedules and liaise with auditors to meet group timelines.
• Manage tax forecasting and mitigate tax risks with senior leadership.

Job description

• Exercise full ownership on assigned entity(ies) ensuring all manual journal entries and sub-ledger reconciliations (GL).
• Lead the integration and validation of high-volume transaction of assigned entity(ies) from external platforms (e.g., Payroll, Primavera, eProcurement, IFCA template, My365 asset & etc.).
• Direct end-to-end monthly closing for assigned entity(ides), providing high-level and insightful analytical review to senior management.
• Act as the primary lead for the preparation of audit schedules, managing the relationship with auditors and ensuring 100% compliance with Group reporting timelines and MFRS and other relevant standards.
• Drive long-term both project, township and entity(ies) rolling forecasts, margin protection strategies, and active cash flow management.
• Oversee comprehensive income tax forecasting for all assigned entity(ies) ensuring proactive compliance and mitigating tax-related risks through expert review.
• Involvement in processes improvement and support innovation changes
• Manage & facilitate complex stakeholder expectations at the executive level and effective communication to meet objective.
• Implements workflows that reduce overtime during month-end and encourages team collaboration to solve roadblocks.
• Undertakes any other tasks and assignments as directed by Management.

Qualifications & Technical Competencies

• Degree in Accounting or equivalent, specialised in Finance, Accounting or CPA/ ACCA/ CIMA and a member of a recognized professional body
• 4-5 years experiences in audit industry and preferable 3 years in property development company
• 6-7 years experiences in commercial and preferable 4 years in property development company
• Possess a high level of integrity, result-oriented, analytical skills, team player & strong leadership.
