A leading financial services company seeks a Compliance Manager to oversee the compliance program and regulatory risk assessments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in compliance functions, particularly within banking and credit services, and will handle audits and training across departments. This role requires strong expertise in legal requirements and compliance methodologies to ensure that the organization adheres to all regulatory standards.
Manage and implement the Group's overall legal and regulatory Compliance Program, Governance, and Framework.
Conduct comprehensive legal and regulatory Compliance Risk Assessments (CRA) to identify relevant regulatory risks related to the organization’s legal compliance, internal policies, and procedures. This includes developing key compliance frameworks, reviewing products, and assessing business risks.
Ensure effective compliance with the Group’s Compliance Program, Governance, and Framework across all business units. Responsibilities include developing or reviewing the Compliance Monitoring Methodology, conducting compliance reviews, producing reports, and overseeing corrective actions. Report to management on compliance status, infringements, breaches, and recommended actions.
Monitor adherence to all relevant laws and regulations, including conducting Gap Analyses, reviewing identified gaps, and ensuring controls are in place. Track action plan closures.
Act as the liaison with authorities such as Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and handle regulatory audits and engagements.
Regularly review and update the Group’s Compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure ongoing compliance and best practices.
Maintain proper records and report non-compliance incidents and breaches to the Board and Risk Management Committee through compliance reports.
Provide advisory support on legal and regulatory compliance issues, including AML/CFT and sanctions. Supervise compliance officers across departments.
Conduct compliance training, including AML/CFT awareness programs.
Minimum job requirements (education & experience)
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in compliance-related disciplines, preferably with a professional compliance certification.
At least 8 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
Experience in compliance functions within banking or financial credit services is required.
Extensive knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance, familiarity with Bank Negara’s requirements, consumer financing, and credit laws are preferred.
Strong understanding of compliance risk management, methodologies, and testing.
