Manager, Regional Public Affairs (Policy and Strategy)

The Regional Public Affairs team reports directly to the CEO, and leads high-impact projects that align commercial and regulatory goals. The team partners with business teams and public sector stakeholders to drive initiatives that leverage technology for societal impact.

Get to Know the Role

The Public Affairs team plays a critical strategic role at Grab. Given the dynamic and often intense regulatory scrutiny across the region, this team is essential in navigating complex landscapes, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and developing proactive strategy. In this role, you will create high-impact change and work with a range of teams across SEA.

You will report to the Head of Regional Public Affairs and be based in Petaling Jaya, with travel across Southeast Asia as needed.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Manage end-to-end delivery of projects, from defining clear objectives based on complex business and regulatory needs, to coordinating with cross-functional teams and ensuring efficient execution.
• Partner strategy teams on commercial initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment between Grab's business and regulatory goals.
• Co-create with strategy and product teams to adapt business initiatives to the context of current and anticipated regulatory developments.
• Develop and implement advocacy strategy, collaborating with country public affairs and regional business teams to meet public policy goals.
• Work with country public affairs teams to analyze public policy issues, develop positions, and provide advocacy recommendations.
• Orchestrate efforts across multiple Grab teams to address public policy topics cohesively in business operations.
• Execute campaigns that drive thought leadership and dialogues on key topics, e.g. through planning of dialogues, forums, roundtable discussions, policy programmes etc.
• Support building lasting relationships with governments, policy-makers, academics, NGOs, tech industry representatives, and other thought leaders in Southeast Asia and globally.
