As the QSHE Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and operational implementation of our QSHE Management System across all departments. You will play a vital role in maintaining certifications, ensuring regulatory compliance, and cultivating a strong QSHE culture organization-wide.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer with the following key responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Lead the implementation, maintaining, and continuous improvement of the Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Management System (QHSEMS) in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 37001, and ISO 27000 standards.
  2. Oversee QSHE documentation, including policies, SOPs, operating guidelines, and manuals, ensuring timely reviews and updates.
  3. Foster a strong safety and health culture across the organization to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all employees.
  4. Lead and manage internal and external audits, ensuring prompt resolution and effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions for any non-conformities.
  5. Liaise with regulatory authorities (e.g., DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, MOH) and external certification bodies to ensure regulatory compliance with Malaysian laws and standards and successful audits.
  6. Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventive safety and environmental control measures throughout operations and projects.
  7. Develop and deliver safety training, awareness programs, and emergency response drills for staff at all levels.
  8. Monitor, review, and report on QHSE compliance and performance metrics, incident trends, and improvement action plans and drive corrective and prevention actions.
  9. Prepare, maintain, and submit comprehensive documentation and reports related to audits, incident investigations, training, and regulatory requirements.
  10. Manage the execution of the Quality Assurance Program (QAP) and promote continuous improvement culture via proactive intervention tools and staff engagement.
  11. Act as Secretary of the Corporate HSE Committee, ensuring compliance with OSHA 1994, including scheduling meetings and maintaining records.
  12. Provide guidance during incident investigations, identify root causes, and assist in reporting any occupational accidents, dangerous occurrences, or occupational diseases to the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  1. Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive organizational change and instill a strong QSHE culture.
  2. In-depth knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001) and Malaysian QSHE regulations.
  3. Experience in managing audits, external inspections, and regulatory compliance processes.
  4. Strong analytical thinking with excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  5. The ability to communicate and influence effectively across all levels of the organization.
  6. A hands-on approach with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, Quality Management, or related discipline.
  2. Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with a valid Green Book issued by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Malaysia.
  3. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in QSHE, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  4. Strong knowledge and practical experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 13485; certification as a Lead Auditor is a strong advantage.
  5. Well-versed with Malaysian laws and regulations such as OSHA 1994, Environmental Quality Act, and requirements from regulatory bodies (e.g., DOSH, DOE, MOH).
  6. Proven experience in managing Integrated Management System (IMS) implementation and certification processes.
  7. Willing to travel.
