Job summary

AFFIN BANK in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a senior product manager to lead development, enhancement, and governance of banking products in line with regulatory requirements. You will oversee mortgage products and ensure pricing, profitability, and risk management align with business objectives.

The role requires strong knowledge of BNM guidelines, AML/CFT, and consumer protection, plus experience drafting policy, coordinating with compliance, and leading cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Banking, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Law, or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Product development expertise including mortgage products and pricing.
• Regulatory & compliance knowledge with BNM guidelines including AML/CFT and consumer protection.
• Policy formulation & governance for Retail Product Program (RPP), SOPs and operational guidelines.
• Knowledge of credit, operational, compliance and conduct risk; identify risks in product design and implement mitigating controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication; prepare and present to Senior Management, Executive Committees and the Board.
• Project management across multiple product initiatives; lead implementations and system enhancements.
• Leadership and people management; coaching, talent development and succession planning.

JOB PURPOSE

To manage the development, enhancement, and governance of banking products and policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, effective risk management, and alignment with business objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Product Development Expertise Strong knowledge of mortgage product. Ability to develop new products from concept to launch i.e Australia Home , Yacht Financing, Home Reno etc. Knowledge in reviewing security documents for new product i.e letter of offer , standard term and conditions , facility agreement etc. Experience in product pricing & profitability analysis. Understanding of market trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings.
2. Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge Strong understanding of BNM Guidelines especially Policy Documents on FEP, AML/CFT requirements, Responsible Lending , Consumer Protection requirements etc Ability to conduct gap analysis between Regulatory & Bank policy Ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational policies and product features Experience in engaging internal Compliance teams
3. Policy Formulation & Governance Drafting and reviewing Retail Product Program (RPP) , Product SOPs, and operational guidelines Establishing governance frameworks and approval processes Ensuring policies remain aligned with regulatory and business requirements
4. Knowledge of Risk Management Knowledge of credit risk, operational risk, compliance risk, and conduct risk Ability to identify risks during product design and implement mitigating controls Experience working with Group Risk Management and Group Compliance Division Understanding of portfolio performance and asset quality monitoring
5. Communication & Presentation Skills Excellent report writing and business communication Ability to prepare and present to Senior Management, Executive Committees, and the Board Strong policy drafting and regulatory correspondence skills
6. Project Management Managing multiple product initiatives simultaneously Leading product implementation and system enhancement projects Strong planning, execution, and monitoring capabilities Ability to manage timelines and cross-functional teams
7. Leadership & People Management Team leadership and coaching Talent development and succession planning Decision-making and problem-solving skills Ability to drive change and foster collaboration
