We are seeking an experienced Procurement Expert to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will play a critical role in managing our organization’s sourcing, purchasing, and category strategies. Your expertise will drive efficiency, cost savings, excellence in operation, and supplier excellence.

Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Sourcing:
    1. Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
    2. Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
    3. Stay abreast of market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices.
    4. Lead negotiation efforts on prices and terms with suppliers, including preparing and executing contracts in accordance with the institution’s and legal requirements.
    5. Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
    6. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within the category, tracking and reporting on savings targets.
    7. Engage with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure their requirements are met.
  2. Procurement Operations:
    1. Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including requisitions, purchase orders, and delivery tracking.
    2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate procurement.
    3. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues promptly.
    4. Work closely with project teams to understand details of procurement requirements.
  3. Category Management:
    1. Categorize spend areas and create category-specific strategies.
    2. Optimize supplier relationships within each category.
    3. Implement best practices for category management, including risk mitigation and supplier diversity.
    4. Cultivate strong relationships with existing suppliers.
    5. Evaluate supplier performance, conduct regular business reviews to ensure they meet the company’s standards, and drive continuous improvement.
    6. Identify and onboard new suppliers as needed, performing due diligence checks to ensure all suppliers/vendors comply with statutory requirements.
    7. Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, conducting regular supplier evaluations.
  4. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    1. Ensure purchased products meet quality standards.
    2. Comply with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
Requirements
  1. Work Experience:
    1. Minimum 8 years of experience in procurement, focusing on strategic sourcing, purchasing operations, and category management.
    2. Proven track record of successful negotiations and cost savings.
    3. Experience in the Education industry is encouraged to apply.
    4. Strong background in procurement operations, strategic sourcing, and category management for indirect spending (e.g., Facilities Management, Marketing, IT, and MRO, and CapEx projects).
  2. Skills:
    1. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    2. Experience in Strategic Sourcing Procurement (SSP) tools.
    3. Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
    4. Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
    5. Familiarity with relevant industry regulations.
    6. Good presentation skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  3. Education:
    1. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
    2. Candidates with CIPS membership preferred.
