The Manager of Retail, Residence and Fleet will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall student experience and supporting our mission to provide a world-class educational environment. This multifaceted role includes strategic planning, operational management, residence operations & services, financial stewardship, menu and product development, customer experience, staff development, marketing, as well as managing the university fleet of vehicles, records and archives, and general campus administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for F&B and retail outlets, aligning with the university's objectives.
- Provide visionary leadership for the residential community, setting goals and strategies to create a positive and inclusive living environment.
- Plan, promote, and manage to maximize the usage of campus venues.
- Identify opportunities to enhance offerings, improve customer experience, and drive revenue growth.
- Operational Management:
- Lead the F&B and retail teams, fostering a collaborative, customer-focused environment.
- Oversee daily operations of residence spaces and accommodations, ensuring safety, maintenance, and student needs are met.
- Establish and maintain emergency response plans and protocols for resident safety.
- Respond effectively to crises and student concerns with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Ensure operations adhere to quality, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Monitor inventory, manage supplies, and oversee vendor relationships.
- Develop and manage budgets, tracking expenses, revenues, and profitability.
- Manage fee payments, refunds, and financial transactions related to retail and residence operations.
- Menu and Product Development:
- Collaborate with culinary and merchandising teams to create appealing menus and retail products.
- Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate them into offerings.
- Customer and Residence Experience:
- Focus on delivering exceptional customer service and responding to feedback.
- Assess and improve outlet layout, ambience, and customer flow.
- Design and coordinate residence life programs and events promoting engagement and leadership.
- Staff Training and Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff to ensure outstanding service.
- Foster a positive work environment encouraging growth and satisfaction.
- Marketing and Promotion:
- Work with marketing teams to develop promotional strategies and events.
- Use social media and platforms to communicate offerings and events.
- Fleet Management:
- Oversee management of university fleet, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Coordinate schedules, routes, and support driver teams for shuttles and transportation.
- Records and Archives:
- Manage central archives and records, ensuring accuracy and security.
- Develop and implement records management policies compliant with university and legal standards.
- Other Campus Administration:
- Manage essential administrative services such as mail, courier, office equipment, and graduation regalia.
- Procure educational materials, souvenirs, and merchandise.
- Oversee central office supplies and consumables.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Proven experience managing multiple F&B and retail outlets, preferably in educational or hospitality sectors.
- Strong business acumen and financial skills.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Creative and innovative in menu and product development.
- Proficiency with inventory and POS systems.
- Exceptional communication and customer service orientation.
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience.
