Overview
The Manager Marine Operations manages a team of Engineers for the preparation and execution of offshore installation operations, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Extensive knowledge & experience of offshore EPCI / T&I projects including execution, safety management, budget control, schedule control and quality control management.
- Familiar with international codes and standards.
- Good communication, coordination and organizing skills the ability to work with minimal supervision and liaise effectively and efficiently with other team members and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and integrity.
- Stakeholder Management skills - Proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external parties.
- Delivery orientated. Able to manage time and meet deadlines.
- 15 plus years of experience in the oil and gas industry with Major Contractors.
- Experience managing a team of more than 8 Engineers.
- The following experience is required:
- Experience of deepwater SURF operations – subsea structures, pipelay, flexibles, umbilicals.
- Rigid pipelay installation - minimum of 4 projects.
- Flexible, umbilical, and flying lead installation - minimum of 4 projects.
- Subsea structures & jumper installation - minimum of 4 projects.
- Pre-commissioning for pipelines, umbilicals, and control systems - minimum of 3 projects.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all operations and activities are performed safely and timely.
- Take responsibility for ensuring the assigned work scope to be executed meets McDermott and Client technical requirements/standards and is completed within the allocated budgets.
- Direct and take responsibility for the dedicated project marine team to meet deadlines and deliver all work scopes as planned.
- Develop execution methodologies for offshore projects.
- Definition of the required marine spread including vessels, crew, and equipment.
- Coordinate engineering and planning for the timely execution of the work scope.
- Detailed reviewing of internal and external deliverables (drawings, reports, procedures, risk assessments, scopes of work, subcontracts).
- Coordinate the definition and ordering of installation aids.
- Coordinate specifying and selecting suitable vessels.
- Coordinate the preparation of subcontractor scopes of works, followed by the award and execution.
- Coordinate the preparation of installation procedures and associated engineering.
- Coordinate constructabilities and operational risk assessments.
- Coordinate mobilising equipment, personnel and vessels to execute work scopes.
- Coordinate testing and load-out of installation aids and equipment to be installed.
- Coordinate the execution of offshore work scopes.
- Coordinate the demobilization of the marine spread and the off-hire of subcontract equipment.
- Work at site and offshore as required by the project.
- Issue project close-out reports.
