Job summary

GrabTaxi Holdings Pte. Ltd. in Malaysia seeks a senior insurance operations leader to advise on risk management and manage Grab's regional insurance policies.

You will collaborate with key stakeholders, structure insurance programs, and drive strategic projects such as captive management and reinsurance, reporting to the Head, Regional Insurance Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in actuarial, business management or finance.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the insurance industry.
• Demonstrated track record in managing projects and stakeholders locally and regionally.
• Experience using data to inform strategic decisions and present to senior management.
• Strong communication with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Get to Know the Role

• We are looking to grow the team further and are looking for someone with a strong background in the insurance industry with extensive project and stakeholder management experiences.
• This role will be located out of Malaysia and will have three primary responsibilities:
  • acting as a key advisor and analyst for the Grab group's risk management using insurance policies;
  • Manage Grab's insurance policies across the region, including procurement and insurance structuring strategy;
  • Participate in key strategic projects for corporate risk management as and when they occur. This involves scope including but not limited to captive management and reinsurance management,
  • You will report to the Head, Regional Insurance Operations in Malaysia and will have a regional focus.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Risk management, insurance placement and structuring strategy:
  • Work with key stakeholders across different business units to address risk and insurance requirements with Grab.
  • Manage end-to-end process to place/renew insurance policies for Grab.
  • Provide insurance and claim advisory support across different units.
  • Facilitate underwriting process between business units and insurers/brokers

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in any field (preferably in actuarial or business management or finance).
• Strong knowledge of the insurance industry with minimum 8 years of working experience
• Demonstrated strong track record in project management, and managing internal/external stakeholders locally and regionally.
• Experienced in using and interpreting data to make strategic decisions.
• Experienced in presenting and engaging with senior management.

What Skills are Good to Haves:

• Prior experiences working in business consulting, insurance underwriting, or agency/brokerage, insurer or reinsurer.
• Deep understanding of Commercial Insurance Products and Regulations across the different lines of insurance.
• Experience in more than one South-East Asian market
