A leading energy services company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a QHSES Training Leader responsible for implementing global training requirements and ensuring compliance. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of industry experience and possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree and NEBOSH certification, focusing on continuous staff development and training program management.
Job Overview:
Responsible of executing the global QHSES training requirements, as a minimum and SAF QHSES training requirements. Identifies and implements additional local training requirements and project specific.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Executes global and SAF training requirements
Evaluates and approves local training needs analysis, local QHSES training matrices, forecasts and training plans
Leads the design, development, implementation, and control of local QHSES training programs
Evaluates external QHSES training vendors, when required
Reviews and approves QHSES training bid inputs
Monitors compliance to regulatory and McDermott QHSES training requirements
Implements and monitors performance metrics
Reviews investigations on training complaints and assessment appeals
Maintains adequate level of qualified and competent staff under SAF
Provides continuous staff development
Direct Reports (N - 1):
Training Administrator
Training Specialist
Competency Program Specialist
Indirect Reports (N -2 and beyond):
Training Resource/focal person under SAF projects
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a related field
Over 15 years QHSES experience within Energy Industry
Over 5 years training leadership experience
In depth knowledge of training requirement as per STCW, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM and ISPS Code and industrial practice
Ability to assess project and business support training needs
Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and other departments/project leads
Ability to explore the development of training cooperation’s with other offshore training providers
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Min NEBOSH Certified or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
Certified Auditor
Assessor and Internal Verifier
Recognized International safety certificate
