Job Summary

Responsible for contributing to and supporting the execution of RBC’s risk management and core governance programs across APAC business and legal entities. This role supports the APAC ERM team and collaborates with the CRO APAC as well as the GRM Asia and Australia teams to drive and implement core ERM programs, priorities, and targets as defined by the Enterprise, local/regional regulations, and RBC APAC business requirements. The goal is to ensure a proper and effective governance oversight model for the region.

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Manager contributes to and supports the execution of RBC’s risk management and governance programs across APAC business and legal entities. This role involves supporting the APAC ERM team, working collaboratively with the CRO APAC, GRM Asia, and Australia teams to implement ERM programs, priorities, and targets, ensuring effective governance oversight for the region.

Region: APAC

Working hours: 9AM-6PM

What will you do?

Strategic Support Initiatives
  • Support risk management responsibilities aligned with the strategic objectives of the APAC CRO.
  • Lead APAC BUORM initiatives and serve as key contact.
  • Facilitate risk reporting for various committees and liaise with the OCOO APAC team on report submissions.
  • Provide updates on climate-related risks specific to Australia for Sydney OC.
  • Maintain up-to-date procedure guides and reflect process changes.
  • Support the Asia team as required.
CPS 220 Annual Review
  • Perform annual CPS 220 compliance review, including updates to policies, frameworks, and addenda, tracking progress.
  • Organize strategic meetings with business lines and document minutes.
Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) Program
  • Monitor regulatory changes issued by Australian regulators.
  • Deliver quarterly RCM reports, including trigger assessments.
  • Enhance RCM processes and conduct independent compliance testing.
GRM Operational Risk Intra-Group Arrangement (IGA)
  • Reassess IGA annually within Archer system.
  • Assist with documentation and upload responses in Archer.
  • Validate contract documents and liaise with the Enterprise SSC team for signatures.
Malaysia Success Initiatives
  • Participate in local working groups to foster a collaborative workplace.
  • Complete mandatory training and participate in learning programs.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Law, or related fields.
  • 8+ years experience in Risk Management within Financial Services.
  • Project management, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle, business transformation, and senior management reporting.
  • Familiarity with APAC regulatory landscape.
  • Strong leadership, influence, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
