Responsibilities Manage the global and regional sourcing and procurement of fatty alcohols and fatty acids, ensuring cost effective and reliable supply chains for the categories both proactively and on demand.
Contribute to progress of the categories on the palm sustainability progress and drive implementation of sustainability targets. Ensure periodic retrieval of Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data from suppliers as per the agreed KPI
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring compliance with BASF’s Supplier Code of Conduct and Palm Sourcing Policy
Proactively prioritize and manage high-risk suppliers in BASF's network, ensuring accuracy of data in the internal platform and regular monitoring to mitigate risks.
Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in the fatty alcohols and fatty acids market
Responsibility for preparation, execution and analysis of biddings and negotiations (RfX) for the respective category within the defined guidelines of the Global Category Manager (GCM) including responsibility for implementation and monitoring of contracts, also in the system.
Work closely with various departments, including procurement, logistics, and quality control, to ensure seamless operations and responsible for internal Business Partner Relationship Management • Proactive identification of potential for further development and value generating potential
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
Support the business in the implementation of investment projects.
Strive for permanent improvement and value generation within the respective category and take ownership to improve efficiency.
Optimize BASF’s Total Cost of Ownership by considering supplier diversity and leveraging economies of scale through bundling global volumes and portfolios.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of sourcing experience in Oleochemicals or related industries
Strong negotiation skills, market analysis capabilities, and supplier relationship management
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, or a related field
Proficiency in English; knowledge of Mandarin is a plus
