Responsible for the financial reporting section for Allianz Malaysia Berhad and Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure timely and accurate financial reports, provide write-up/commentary, analysis, and interpretation of results, monitor progress and changes, and keep senior leadership informed of the Company’s financial results;
2. Handle the preparation of all submissions to regional offices, including the monthly management report under both local and IFRS standards. Ensure completeness and timeliness of all regional reporting;
3. Ensure accurate and timely filing and reporting to regulatory bodies;
4. Prepare and ensure completeness and accuracy of management reports;
5. Handle tax-related matters, including tax estimates, tax computations, liaise with tax agents on compliance, and resolve tax issues;
6. Prepare interim and annual financial statements;
7. Prepare quarterly reports for Bursa Malaysia and the annual report;
8. Coordinate with auditors during audits and resolve audit findings, accounting, and audit issues;
9. Identify and explore ways to improve efficiency and accuracy of reporting deliverables;
10. Participate in finance activities to assess new accounting standards and regulatory requirements for their financial impact;
11. Stay updated with relevant regulations, guidelines, and reporting requirements issued by authorities to ensure compliance;
12. Actively participate in discussions, preparation, and analysis of statutory returns, particularly for MFRS 17 and MFRS 9;
13. Perform any other ad-hoc functions assigned by management.

Key Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualifications
• At least 6 years of relevant experience; candidates with audit experience are strongly encouraged to apply
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of SAP and MicroStrategy is an advantage
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong commitment, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
• Well-versed in MFRS standards
• Good command of English, both written and oral
• Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT to assist with tasks
