Job description

The Finance Manager will oversee the full spectrum of finance duties, including banking & treasury; accounting & reporting, cash flow management; ensuring compliance with accounting standards, optimizing financial processes, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role requires a blend of operational finance expertise and leadership to manage day-to-day accounting activities while driving long-term financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including consolidated accounts, profit/loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.

· Oversee standard costing, BOM (Bill of Materials) reviews, and variance analysis.

· Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and company policies.

· Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including audits and tax computations.

· Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies (e.g., LHDN, SSM, MITI, Kastam) and deal with any financial irregularities as they arise.

· To consolidate financial accounts and reporting at the Group level, ensuring the timely, accurate, and comprehensive capture of financial data across both retail and manufacturing divisions. This function is to support strategic decision-making by the management and ensure compliance of reporting requirements.

2. Operational Finance

· Oversee accounts payable/receivable, vendor management, and payment processing to maintain accurate financial records.

· Reconcile financial discrepancies and implement corrective measures.

· Manage fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.

3. Tax planning

· Tax planning and compute tax computations and issues associated with activities such as business acquisitions and mergers.

4. Strategic Planning & Analysis

· Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and risks.

· Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning to align with business goals.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. procurement, operations) to optimize financial performance.

· Supervise and mentor the finance team, including training and performance evaluations.

· Foster a collaborative work environment and ensure adherence to internal controls.

6. Compliance & Process Improvement

· Ensure adherence to statutory requirements (e.g., GST/SST, payroll).

· Implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.

· Review the company's systems, analyse risk, and project contract and costing

7. Other duties

· Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
