Job Description:

Job Specification

To manage and supervise the overall accounting and financial matters, including finalization of management reports and statutory financial statements that are in strict compliance with the International accounting standards and SD Guthrie Berhad policies.

To ensure timely and high-quality submissions to Group Finance, including financial analytics, monthly and quarterly financial and management reports.

To manage and monitor financial forecasts to ensure financial targets are achieved.

To effectively manage working capital and funding requirements, including optimizing purchases, inventories, monitoring debtor aging for timely collections, and proper planning and forecasting. This also involves reviewing customer credit assessments.

To perform treasury functions, including liaising with bankers on banking facilities, foreign exchange and money market transactions, letters of credit, and other banking matters in consultation with Group Treasury Finance. Managing exchange exposure and hedging in accordance with company policies.

To review the Annual Budget, including participating in challenge sessions with the business to support assumptions underlying the budget.

To work closely with external auditors, review audit reports, and address internal control matters prior to finalization.

To manage all tax matters, ensuring tax efficiencies and effective management of tax risks.

To review and improve internal controls, corporate governance processes, and ensure adherence to SD Guthrie Berhad Group Finance Policies, Procedures, and Limits of Authority (LOA).

To support business decisions through in-depth analysis of financial and operational performance, including product costing and margin reviews to ensure accuracy for optimal product mix decisions.

To review and manage insurance policies, ensuring cost-effective coverage, maximizing claims, and expediting claims processing.

To actively participate in the Tender Committee, ensuring adherence to tender processes and policies, and managing price negotiations effectively.

To develop and uplift the finance team through training and coaching to enhance competencies and performance.

Job Requirements

Preferably a bachelor's degree in accountancy.

Possess professional accountancy membership (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW) is preferred.

Minimum of 8 years' experience in the FMCG industry is preferred.

Experience in working with MNCs is an added advantage.

At least 2 years' experience in corporate finance is preferred.
