The Manager, Finance is responsible for managing the day-to-day finance operations for the United Kingdom business unit. This includes ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for UK operations, preparing monthly P&L forecasts and annual budgets to support the Business Plan, and overseeing the preparation of audited financial statements at the entity level. The role also involves liaising with joint venture partners on finance-related matters and ensuring compliance with the company’s Limits of Authority (LOA) and the Joint Operating Agreement (JOA).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for the timely preparation and accurate financial reporting for overseas operations in the United Kingdom
    • Supports the day-to-day finance and administrative tasks
    • Ensure monthly/quarterly reporting is completed on a timely basis, including relevant analytical reviews
      • Timely and accurate close process and submission to Group Finance for consolidation purposes
      • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and Group policies
      • Provide inputs for quarterly and annual reporting requirements
    • Ensure all submissions to the relevant authorities are on time and accurate
    • Prepare tax forecast and ensure timely review from tax agents, if required
    • Liaise with relevant tax agents. Manage and resolve tax compliance matters and tax audits (if any). Ensure proper handling of taxation-related submissions and computations
    • Liaise with external auditors with regards to annual statutory external audits and any ad-hoc audits
    • Liaise with internal auditors regarding any internal audit exercises. Supervise the implementation of identified action points
    • Liaise with bankers on banking related matters
    • Monitor cashflow position and highlight any red flag, if any
    • Liaise with respective operators and joint venture partners (where relevant) and ensure timely submission of joint venture statements, cash calls and management account
    • Liaise with respective operators and ensure utilization of budget are tracked accordingly
    • Review and ensure the accuracy of the financial reports submitted by respective operators
    • Liaise with respective JV partners for queries in relation to Projects (if any)
  • Review and ensure the budget is updated on a monthly for latest estimates
  • Ensure effective internal controls and proper project governance are in place and compliance with requirements by LOA and JOA
  • Participates in LOA reviews
  • Provides monthly periodic forecasts on P&L
  • Prepares annual budgets for annual Business Plan
  • Prepares audited financial statement for entity level
  • Assist in the preparation of Annual Report, mainly Group financial numbers
  • Assist in the preparation of Group annual business plan
  • Other ad-hoc duties as prescribed by Chief Financial Officer and/or Senior Finance Manager and to assist in achieving Finance Department’s objectives

KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess a professional qualification from an internationally accepted accounting body (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA, MICPA, CPA, etc.) or a degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in auditing and/or accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
  • Well-versed in MFRS/IFRS accounting standards and statutory financial statement requirements
  • Prior experience in the oil & gas upstream (E&P) industry is highly advantageous
  • Experience in JV accounting and group financial reporting is a plus
  • Exposure to KLSE (Bursa) reporting is advantageous
  • Proficiency in the SUN system is preferred
  • Strong organizational and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written)
