Responsibilities:
- Devise accounting system including implementation of new system and related enhancements to provide up-to-date financial information of the company.
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports for Melaka Branch, HQ, and holding companies, including assisting in amalgamation of accounts. Lead financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decisions.
- Control and manage end-to-end financial processes, including collections, payments, monthly close activities, and balance sheet reconciliation. Plan and control credit, cost tabulation, cash flow presentation, and monitor intercompany balances.
- Ensure all accounting systems, practices, controls, and procedures are fully compliant with Financial Reporting Standards. Verify payment vouchers, journal entries, invoices, official receipts, and monthly debtor and creditor statements.
- Maintain records of all taxes, licenses, and fees payable by the company and ensure compliance. Review monthly tax computations and ensure tax estimates are sufficient in accordance with latest tax laws and regulations. Propose tax savings strategies for discussion.
- Supervise and mentor the accounts team to ensure high performance, offering guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Undertake other projects and ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Degree in Finance & Accounting or equivalent with professional qualifications such as ACCA, MIA, or CPA.
- Minimum 5-8 years of working experience, with at least 2 years as a Finance Manager, proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and analysis (preferably in manufacturing industry).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP system (added advantage).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
