We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Extended Warranty Underwriter with 4-5 years of industry experience to join our underwriting team. In this role, you will evaluate and underwrite extended warranty products, ensuring they align with company guidelines and risk appetite while supporting business growth and profitability.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assessing and analyzing extended warranty applications, evaluating risk factors, and determining appropriate coverage, terms, and pricing.
  • Developing and maintaining underwriting guidelines and policies to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with sales and marketing teams to design warranty programs that meet customer needs and align with company objectives.
  • Monitoring the performance of existing warranty products, analyzing loss ratios, claims data, and market trends to adjust underwriting strategies as necessary.
  • Providing user requirements and conducting UAT to ensure system rollout accuracy.
  • Issuing policies and supporting branch in policy issuance matters.
  • Staying current with industry developments, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to ensure competitiveness and compliance.

Important to your success:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Insurance, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in underwriting, preferably within the extended warranty or insurance industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with a thorough understanding of risk assessment and pricing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in underwriting software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CMII) are highly desirable.
  • Experience working with automotive, electronics, or appliance extended warranty products.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to extended warranties.
  • Familiarity with using ChatGPT for automating routine tasks and enhancing productivity.
