Overview

Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, JTT and Sustainability, you will be assigned projects as Engineer Lead and deliver pre-opening hotels across SEAK.

You will prepare engineering services briefs for Consultants and Project teams on new projects and review with comments on consultants’ designs in terms of economy, appropriateness in design, budget and operational requirements. Conduct fire life safety (FLS) and Key engineering equipment testing will be required as pre-opening tasks for this role.

Ensure new hotel designs are benchmarked and optimized for energy efficiency including compliance with global energy conservation measures (ECM) initiatives, and Journey to Tomorrow (IHG’s 10-year responsible business plan). Actively seeks out new technologies geared to reduce energy consumption, in line with IHG’s benchmark energy metrics.

Providing advice and directions to the Hotel engineering department on engineering standards and procedures, FLS and ECM requirements, and taking over projects from construction teams, you will ensure compliance with IHG standards and specifications.

Provides FLS and engineering input in the Property Improvement Plan (PIP) on potential conversion and/or renovation of existing hotels after site inspections in relation to IHG standards and specifications of the same.

Provides leadership to collaborate with other business units’ leaders to ensure consistency in delivery of Engineering Technical Services for SEAK.

Qualifications and Requirements

Qualifications –

Degree or Diploma in Engineering (or international equivalent) with emphasis in: Built environment, building services, marine, mechanical and electrical engineering.

Experience –

Minimum 8 years related experience to include at least 5 years in a related building services role for hotel or commercial complexes.

Relevant professional certifications with experience in Fire safety assessment, licensed electrical engineer or mechanical professional accreditation will be required.

Ability to read and analysis technical/ as built drawings in AutoCAD program will be required.

Hotel working experience and experience in a multi-national corporate environment, especially in SEAK hospitality market is considered an added advantage.
