Job Purpose
- Assist in evaluating corporate proposals to support management in making strategic decisions that maximize shareholder value while balancing risks and returns.
- Support the group in achieving short- to long-term goals.
Accountabilities
Corporate Finance
- Evaluate and review corporate proposals, funding, and capital raising initiatives in line with corporate strategy.
- Prepare and conduct valuations of target companies using various methodologies.
- Analyze project economics, cost-benefit, accounting & tax implications, legal and regulatory considerations, and potential risks and benefits.
- Identify key risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and review relevant documents, including presentations, legal documents, board papers, announcements, and shareholder circulars.
- Assist in debt capital market origination and execution, including bonds, sukuk, and other instruments.
- Support capital markets activities and M&A transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements from Bursa Malaysia, Securities Commission, and others.
- Coordinate with internal teams (tax, finance, accounting, operations) and external professionals (investment bankers, lawyers, auditors, tax advisors).
Recovery Planning
- Assist the Head of Corporate Finance & Recovery Planning in developing and executing recovery strategies to minimize losses and ensure business continuity.
- Help prepare the Group Recovery Plan and BNM templates, including annual reviews and updates.
Additional duties may include ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance Management, Economics, or related fields; professional qualifications like ACCA, CPA are advantageous.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in corporate finance transactions, audit, or financial analysis.
- Knowledge of corporate finance, financial analysis, and diagnostics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and spoken English skills.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Independent, proactive, meticulous, and quick learner with strategic thinking abilities.
- Effective communicator and team player capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
