Job Summary

The Contract and Commercial Manager (M&E) role is pivotal in overseeing the contractual and commercial aspects of a project's Mechanical and electrical system-related works. The candidate should possess extensive expertise in contract management, project cost control, risk assessment, and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions across all stages of the project.
  • Manage contractual risks by identifying issues early and implementing corrective actions.
  • Administer variations, claims, and extensions of time (EOT).
  • Prepare contract close-out documentation and ensure proper handover.
  • Lead the preparation, submission, and negotiation of project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans.
  • Develop strategies to optimize cash flow and project profitability.
  • Evaluate and control project costs to avoid overruns.
  • Monitor procurement and subcontracts to ensure compliance with budget and timelines.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, including value engineering.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Coordinate with the legal and finance teams to address contractual and payment issues.
  • Support Senior Managers with commercial insights to meet delivery targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of MEP systems and construction processes.
  • Expertise in contract negotiation, administration, and claims management.
  • Proficient in cost management tools and software (e.g., SAP Ariba, Autodesk, Excel).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
