Job summary

GEP, a global procurement and supply chain solutions firm, seeks a Manager – Procurement Consulting in Kuala Lumpur to lead end-to-end engagements across strategy, sourcing, category management and operating-model transformations. You will drive client value with senior stakeholders and collaborate with SEA teams to unlock savings.

The role requires 6–10 years in procurement consulting, strong English, and travel across SEA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; MBA or CPSM/CPM is a plus.
• Extensive experience delivering end-to-end procurement projects across categories.
• Strong client-facing and presentation skills; ability to engage senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement consulting engagements across strategy, category management, sourcing and operating model transformation.
• Manage project workstreams from diagnostic to implementation and benefits realization.
• Develop category and sourcing strategies, supplier segmentation and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Conduct spend analysis, market intelligence and opportunity assessments for value creation.
• Support procurement operating model design, governance and processes.
• Lead client workshops and interviews with Procurement, Finance and business leaders.
• Prepare client-ready analyses and executive-level recommendations.
• Manage project teams, timelines and senior client expectations.
• Identify opportunities to expand GEP’s client relationships and pursue SEA opportunities.
• Collaborate with global teams to bring the right capabilities to clients.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on consulting leadership role for a procurement professional who can independently lead end-to-end procurement transformation and strategic sourcing engagements and work directly with senior client stakeholders.

You will work across GEP's SEA client portfolio, helping organizations improve procurement performance, unlock savings and build more effective procurement operating models.

What You’ll Do

• Lead end-to-end procurement consulting engagements across procurement strategy, category management, strategic sourcing, cost optimization and operating model transformation.
• Manage project workstreams from diagnostic and opportunity assessment through implementation and benefits realization.
• Develop category strategies, sourcing strategies, supplier segmentation, negotiation approaches and savings initiatives.
• Conduct spend analysis, market intelligence, benchmarking and opportunity assessments to identify value creation opportunities.
• Support procurement operating model, process and governance design.
• Lead client workshops, stakeholder interviews and working sessions with Procurement, Finance, Operations and business leaders.
• Build compelling client-ready analyses, recommendations and executive presentations.
• Manage project teams, timelines, deliverables and senior client expectations.
• Identify opportunities to expand GEP's relationship with existing clients and support new business pursuits across SEA.
• Work collaboratively with GEP's global consulting, technology and managed services teams to bring the right capabilities to clients.

What You Should Bring:

• 6–10 years of experience in procurement consulting, strategic sourcing, category management or procurement transformation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related discipline; MBA/master’s degree or certifications such as CPSM/CPM are a plus.
• Strong experience delivering traditional end-to-end procurement consulting projects, preferably across multiple categories and industries.
• Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, spend analysis, category strategy, supplier management and cost reduction.
• Strong understanding of procurement operating models, processes, governance and performance management.
• Experience managing consulting workstreams and junior consultants.
• Strong client-facing and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to identify and support business development and account expansion opportunities.
• Experience working with clients in Southeast Asia is highly desirable.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel across SEA as required.
